Chef André Rochat’s armagnac and cognac collection is a “celebrity” collection in its own right.

It’s the largest cognac and armagnac collection in Las Vegas, and ranks in the top 3 in North America for sheer size. Beyond the sheer volume in the collection, though, André Rochat is unrivaled in the number of rare armagnacs and cognacs he offers visiting guests in his 9-page cognac and fine spirits menu. It’s a menu that brings in cognac-loving guests from all over the world to both restaurants, Alizé, and André’s at the Monte Carlo Resort.

Chef André leaves no stone unturned when it comes to fulfilling his lifelong hobby of researching, finding and acquiring some of the rarest cognac collections in the world. As an example, André’s collection offers THREE full sets of the famed Erte´ Courvoisier Cognac Collection – each consisting of eight bottles (not just the more easily attainable seven).

(A little known fact: The Courvoisier cognac company commissioned famous Russian-born artist Erte´ to complete one-of-a-kind work for 8 cognac collectibles. The first Courvoisier bottle, intended for release in 1988, however, was denied distribution by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms because Erte’s Art Deco imagery depicted a naked woman.

Courvoisier released the remaining 7 in the collection, each with 12,000 in distribution. They were finally able to release the first “trouble maker” as their 8th bottle in 1994, but did so as a very limited release of just 4,000 bottles. Just a few hundred cognac collections in the world possess the entire 8-bottle Erte set.)

Other rare finds within Chef Andre’s collection are the series of Vintage cognacs from the Jacques Hardy Private Reserves. (In fact, André’s cognac collection contains the largest selection of Hardy Cognac outside the family’s collection.) Additionally, vintage ports begin with the 1966 Sandeman and the oldest Madeira on hand, and we pour vintages by the shot, from 1802 through 1914.
